Hi all. Hope you are all wellI have been researching gold in Ireland for a while now and I intend to go out in spring and find some. A friend of mine then told me about this quarry he owns and said I can try there too if I liked. So I went and looked and couldn't believe the rock formations he was showing me. Huge quartz and iron veins running through the whole place. I too some samples and panned them and I'm almost sure there is really fine gold in the remaining sands and dust. However I am not a geologist or gold miner and I wouldn't have the equipment to separate the materials. So here's my offer. If any of you would like me to send you some dirt to test I will send it to you free. And let's see the results. If you find anything you can keep it. I'm more interested in the results and the I will know if I'm going to maybe spend a little money on some small equipment or whatever comes next. Maybe I'll just sell the dirt or something... Who knows... Maybe there's no gold there! So if any of you would like to try it out PM me. Here's some pics of the quarry.. It's a fully set quarry and has all the work done... Mountains of gravel everywhere

You're right about the heavies staining those rocks, and the visible minerals are a nice sight as well.
I hope someone takes you up on your offer and posts the results.
All the best, and thanks for posting the photos--it sure is an interesting site.

Hey Larry, yes it's an interesting site indeed.. If I had the knowledge and time and equipment I'm sure I could find out, but I thought this might be a fun way of doing it... And I'd there's no gold in it then a few people will have some good old Irish soilwin win
