Does anyone know if you have to pay to park at the pennyweight trail head? Going there tomorrow and I don't want to come back to a ticket....

I remember when Mineral Bar campground was free, back in the 90's. I went there one fine day to spend a few days prospecting. NOPE!

A whole gang of biker outlaws had taken over, and were boozing heavily and rowdy as hell! I got out of there fast!

More than a few times I went to Bear River campground, and the whole place was filled with druggies and degenerates!
Last year I went there, and it was wall to wall Mexicans, and they were giving me the ole stink eye!

I have given up ever camping out anymore, too many horror stories and crazy people now. Is that just California, or is it elsewhere?

Very true, I'll take a bad day prospecting over a good day at work anytime! Nice gold, a few good looking chunks there!
