Hey all, tried to use a a Keene 151 Honda engine with the Keene 140 box and it did not work well at all. I used a 4" to a 2 1/2" reducer at the engine blower. This ran to the 2 1/2 hose to the Keene 140 riffle box.

Well, the box did not vibrate really at all. the dirt was just barely bouncing on the rifles, but not enough to push the dirt down the tray. I wanted to use the 151 to heat up the dirt above ambient temperature to get the most bang for my buck.

I'm assuming I threw off the CFM to a minimal or disrupted something.

I'm sure there's a better way to make this work. Any ideas ?

Thanks, mellow yellow

Thanks, mellow yellowSounds like the airflow is too restrictive...maybe try 4" hose from the blower to a 2 1/2" reducer at the box? im no expert, just a thought.

You need a bigger hose. The Keene 140 was originally sold with a 3" hose for the unit and your 2 1/2" is just not allowing enough cfm of air through to make it work properly. Upgrade your hose and you should get proper airflow.

Also has this Keene been "customized" by a previous owner?

Thanks, Chris

Good evening,
Yes the 151 hose is a 4" and would work fine after adapted to the 3" inlet of the 140. You should have no issues after that.

Have a great week,
Chris

ChrisRight on, well had a 50/50 chance of using the right hose, the 140 hose or the 151 hose and of course I choose poooooorly! Lol.

Just flip the hose end for end. Sometimes the air molecules get backed up always going the same direction.

Worked for my internet connection.

Good luck with your project.Hey brotha, yeah I finally had to get out of my house and move(foreclosure) and I was pretty bumped out for a few weeks. Wiped the dust off and I'm pulling it together.

Finding that 1.3 oz nugget last month sure helped my brain, so gonna go back soon to find its bigger brother. Sorry had to gloat some more! Hope all is well you FP.
