Homemade or store bought, a leather gasket is the way to go. Runs smooth and easy with no lube (lube and gold do not mix well!). The guys who sell the Gold-N-Sand hand dredge will also sell you just the leather gasket so you can build your own :-)

I saw that to i debated weather i should get it or not. I worry about it's durability. When i pulled the plunger out it was made of a thin plastic. I could see myself snapping that thing after a few pulls and there goes thirty dollars lol. But who knows it might work good.Reply With Quote Apr 04, 2013, 10:33 PM#7KevinInColorado Jan 2012Centennial, Colorado669 170 times Prospecting
I have one of those. It works but is VERY hard to pull compared to a decent unit.
