Come out from under your bed today...... DO SOMETHING!Jun 2008Yarnell, AZ and Murphys,CARight now: Garrett GTA 500, ACE 250, Fisher Impulse 8, Gold Bug 2, Whites GMT, Vibraprobe 570, and Falcon MD203,046 498 times Coinshooting, Gold prospecting, and Nuggetshooting Went down to the RV Thursday. Gerry (Supafly 123) and TimC were there. We went detecting on Fri or Sat (it's all a blur now). I was off by myself and saw this really nice bluff on the side of the wash... just begging to be detected. I started working up the side of the bluff. Before I knew it, I was 8 to 10 feet above the wash floor.... and the rocks underfoot started to move. I KNEW I was going to take a hit. I could not move. My only option was to try and look over my shoulder and try to pick the spot to land. The next instant, I was flying like an eagle... downward. BAM! I got up and spit sand out. My right elbow took a big hit. right pinky wasn't moving right. Left shoulder was also covered with open wounds. BUT.... no bones sticking out so I walked back to where Tim and Gerry were at. By that time, my right elbow "scratch" was now the size of a baseball. Pinky was black'n'blue. and I was HURTING! Morale of the story: DON"T DO IT! Stay away from those rock bluffs. Those stones and dirt have been in place for hundreds and thousands of years but that doesn't mean it will hold your weight. And don't go to such places alone. I was lucky to be able to walk out on my own. Lesson learned.... use your head for more than just bouncing it off of rocks! (and enjoy the flight till you hit bottom!) Incidently, thank you Fisher, for building a Gold Bug 2 that "flew" 10 feet and still works! TTCFullpan, Lanny in AB, soupfreak and 6 others like this.

Only in America, could they have had the two people most responsible for the tax code, Timothy Geithner, the head of the Treasury Department and Charles Rangel who once ran the Ways and Means Committee, BOTH turn out to be tax cheats who are in favor of higher taxes.

Didn't find a thing. Gold , that is. Found religion on the way down. Thanks all. I can chuckle about it now, but the outcome could have been much more severe. Glad you made it out alright. Good to hear your equipment survived the fall too, sounds like all you need to replace is a t shirt and a cold beer.

Yesterday is history, tomorow a mystery. All we have is the here and now, it's a special gift. That's why we call it "The Present"

Oct 2012Southern CaliforniaA cheap little Bounty Hunter251 108 times All Types Of Treasure Hunting I can empathize with you TC. I took a tumble like that off a trail toward a small creek by the Kern River CA. My GrandPa asked me what hurt worse, the fall or the sudden stop at the bottom. I tried to punch him with my good hand as he laughed.
